Product Care and FAQ's
Mother Earth Line
Burnt Oringe Quality Linen washing instructions are printed on a white tag inside all of our linen pieces. Following our garment instructions will ensure that your linen has a long, interesting life. In general, washing your linen in cold or warm water with mild powder laundry soap and drying it on the line are the best ways to clean our products. As we are an eco-friendly company, washing with non-toxic, biodegradable types of laundry powder are preferred. Please DO NOT use a bleach or brightening detergent on this fabric.
Mother Earth linen does not require any special handling because it retains it shape, color and appearance, wash after wash, with minimal shrinkage. This means effortless, easy care. This exclusive linen can be machine-washed and dried or hand washed. However we do recommend not washing your linen with rough materials - like towels. Our Mother Earth line has such an amazingly smooth finish that this will help protect and prolong it wash after wash.

Cotton and Linen Lines
As with our Mother Earth line, Burnt Oringe Quality Linen washing instructions are printed on a white tag inside all of our linen pieces. Following our garment instructions will ensure that your linen has a long, interesting life. When caring for cotton bed linen, we recommend laundering them every five to six days, this will keep your linen looking its best. Leaving it longer may cause discolouration, especially with white linens. Ideal washing temperature is 40 degrees, and contrary to popular belief, fine white linens should not be boil washed, especially since modern detergents now achieve excellent results at low temperatures. As we are an eco-friendly company, washing with non-toxic, biodegradable types of laundry powder are preferred.
For best results, select a non-biological detergent containing no optical whiteners, bleaching agents or enzymes that can cause colours to fade or become patchy and can also damage fabrics. When hand washing, do not place the detergent directly onto the laundry, but ensure liquids are dispersed and powders completely dissolved before immersing the items to be washed.
Line drying is ideal for leaving your laundry outdoor-fresh and almost crease-free, but using a tumble dryer at the correct setting also gives good results. When using a tumble dryer, do not over dry laundry and remove it promptly to reduce creasing.
Washing and drying linens correctly will help eliminate creasing and make ironing easier. Natural fibres crease more when new, but with time the fabric softens and this will reduce. For best results, iron your bed linen whilst still slightly damp, using a steam iron. As with a shirt collar, always iron the corners of pillowcases from the outside inwards to avoid corner creasing. If the item is embroidered or embellished, iron this area on the reverse to enhance and protect it.
